Updating Final Cut X

I had a problem with updating Final Cut X 10.0.0 to the new 10.0.1 release.  The App Store could see Final Cut X installed but gave me notice that it did not need to be updated.  However, the App Store correctly identified Motion 5 as needing to be updated.  I waited a few days and got the same results.  So I thought to myself “should I just delete the program and see if the App Store would reinstall it?” Then I searched online to see if anyone else was experiencing this issue and saw that Christopher Swainhart of swainhart.org/ had the same problem.  His solution was to delete the Final Cut X app in the applications folder and then reinstall from the App Store.  Instructions for this can be found at the Apple support site at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4057.  It worked and now I can happily check out the new XML export features of the new Final Cut!
